What is (biodynamic) craniosacral therapy? (BCST)

In brief
Craniosacral therapy (cranio) is a very gentle, non-manipulative, hands on therapy that connects with your body's system and it's inborn ability to heal itself.
Alternative and holistic therapies are finding a place in modern society as people become more aware of the body, mind and spirit connection. Cranio is a natural therapy that recognises and supports all of these elements.
"Touch is incredibly profound, and sets off a deep, physiological reaction in the body."
Ged Sumner
In detail
Craniosacral therapists are trained to 'feel' health throughout the body's many systems and flows be it body, mind or spirit. This skill is called 'felt sense'. Everything right down to the cells in our bodies expand and contract in a natural rhythm which changes when life, illness, dis-ease, injury, trauma, stress etc happens.
This is much like when a rock disrupts the flow of a stream. Through craniosacral therapy the body is able to negotiate, integrate and ultimately release those tensions and traumas, removing the 'rocks' of life.
Every one of us is very different due to our unique journeys through life. This means every therapy session is different too.

Who can benefit?
Anyone seeking health. This therapy is powerful yet gentle and non-manipulative ie hands are laid on the body but not moved around as in massage. This type of touch is perfect during pregnancy, after childbirth, with newborns, young children, adults and the elderly.
All people (and most definitely animals too!) can benefit from craniosacral therapy.
